Stadium Design, Finance, and Build Challenge™ Cohort II September 1 – December 31, 2026 Winners Announced January 18, 2027 Hosted on iBuild STEM City Kansas City The Stadium Design, Finance, and Build Challenge™ Cohort II is an immersive, real-world learning experience that empowers students, educators, aspiring professionals, entrepreneurs, and community members to explore what it takes to design, finance, construct, and operate a modern sports and entertainment venue. Participants will work in multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative stadium concepts while gaining hands-on exposure to architecture, engineering, construction management, geotechnical engineering, finance, economic development, sustainability, technology integration, community engagement, and workforce development. Through industry mentorship, virtual learning experiences, and project-based challenges, participants will discover how major public and private infrastructure projects are planned, funded, built, and leveraged to create long-term economic impact. The challenge connects classroom learning with real-world career pathways in STEM, business, skilled trades, artificial intelligence, digital technology, and sports infrastructure, helping participants build valuable skills while reimagining the future of stadiums and community development. Participants will: Design a next-generation stadium or sports district. Develop financing and economic impact strategies. Explore engineering, construction, and infrastructure systems. Learn from industry leaders and subject matter experts. Create digital presentations, budgets, and project plans. Showcase their solutions before a panel of judges and stakeholders.
